How it works

Four steps between you and a calmer interview.

BeforeRound is built around one idea: the best practice is practice for the specific interview you are about to have. Here is what happens after you paste a job link.

  1. 1

    You share the job

Paste a link to the posting. Ava can read most job boards and career pages, including ones that load with JavaScript. No link? Describe the role in a few lines, or paste the description. Adding your CV is optional, but it lets Ava ask about your real projects.

    • Job link, description or CV, any combination
    • PDF, Word or text CVs up to 5 MB
  2. 2

Ava researches and builds your brief

In a minute or two, Ava reads the posting, the company website and recent news, and looks for what other candidates have reported about this company's interviews. She then maps the role against your CV and builds the interview loop you are likely to face.

    • Company summary, stage, size and culture signals
    • The likely rounds in order, with who runs each
    • What they are assessing and how to show it
    • Six to eight likely questions per round
  3. 3

    You interview with Ava

Pick a round, a mode and a length, check your microphone, and join. Ava speaks and listens in real time. She asks one question at a time, follows up when an answer is thin, keeps to time, and closes the way a real interviewer would.

    • Real mode: no hints, full debrief at the end
    • Coach mode: feedback after each answer, with a retry
    • Live captions and a full transcript
  4. 4

You get a debrief and fix it

Seconds after the call ends, you get a readiness score for the round, the three changes that would make the biggest difference, and a breakdown of every question with a stronger answer built from your own experience. Then go again.

    • Score, verdict and summary
    • Top three fixes with example lines
    • Question by question feedback
    • Downloadable transcript
